How will you assess me?
How long will it take me to complete this course?
Remember that as an open
learning distance education student
you're in charge on how long the
course will last . When you
have lodged and successfully completed the assignment activities (achieved
competency) you will receive
your nationally recognised certificate IV assessment workplace training
certification.
Most students take between eight
and eighteen months to complete the program. At Safecity we
realise that some students may not have a lot of time to dedicate to study.
For this reason, your enrolment will remain active for 18 months.
When you
enrol, our friendly student support service will discuss your training needs
and provide you with a detailed learning plan customised just for you!
Stick to this generous plan--it is there to help you achieve your goal as soon
as practicable. Of course, you can always alter the plan as your needs
change.
I'm am currently looking for employment.
Will this be a barrier to learning?
The Diploma of Training and Assessment is really designed for individuals who
are either Training Managers in a large workplace, or are in management or
administration within a Registered Training Organisation. For this reason,
it is HIGHLY recommended that you do have employment, or are able to practise
the skills in an environment that is suitable.
Many of our students
enrol in our program to attract a good job or to improve their careers.
Our course is designed to help remove barriers to learning. Your tutor
will help you decide how you can set out your assignments so that you can
achieve the best possible results and comply with the new training package.
Indeed, there are special requirements imposed on
students of this new course that may pose barriers to the unemployed (which was
a rather strange thing to do--I think).
However, DON'T
PANIC! Your tutor will suggest strategies that you can use to not only excel
in your course but also improve your chances of obtaining a good job.
Sorry, you have to enrol in our course to find out what these suggestions are!
At Safecity Training Academy, you are not just a "fee-paying student number".
You are part of our family of successful and apprentice successful graduates!
What is the cost of the course?

WARNING ABOUT COURSES OFFERED BY NON-REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATIONS: If you enrol in a TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment conducted by a trainer that is not registered, your certificate will not be recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
You can check if a training organisation is registered by conducting a
search in the National
Training Information Service Database.
I have completed the BSZ50198 Diploma of Training and Assessment Systems, or BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Can I get recognition for either of these qualifications?
Absolutely. You still need to ensure you have the Pre-Requisite's covered (i.e. that you hold the TAA40104 qualification with the TAADEL402A elective unit).
The BSZ40198 qualification is best mapped to the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
There are quite a few differences between the older BSZ50198 Diploma of Training and Assessment Systems, and the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment. There are some units that offer direct credit, and others that are partial matches - so there is a strong possibility that there are gaps. Please speak to one of our friendly staff - or send us an email!

I am an experienced trainer, but I have not completed the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Can I apply for recognition of current competency for the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment qualification?
Yes. RPL for TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment is available from us.
Recognition is all about RECOGNISING your current skills and knowledge. Most of us learn the skills we need to perform our duties in the work environment - so it makes sense that experienced trainers that don't have formal qualifications would hold a lot of the same skills. That is where the Recognition Process comes in.
It is still essential to hold the TAA40104 qualification, though. So, if you don't already hold the TAA40104 qualification, that is your first Recognition step!
There have been considerable changes in the new Workplace Training qualification. Therefore, I greatly encourage you to take the plunge and enrol in the full course. As a professional trainer, you surely want to be fully informed about your craft and the many tools you can use to benefit your students (and your career and finances).
Who recognises this course?
This course is recognised nationally in Australia under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Is your course industry specific?
The TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment is not industry specific--it can be transported across any industry. Almost all industries now require their trainers to have this qualification. This is particularly true for Government, educational organisations such as TAFE and Colleges, and Corporate Australia.
Our manuals and lesson plans are not industry specific. The nature of the program is such that you can quickly adapt your lesson plans to any training environment.
We do, however, gather a lot of information from you about your work roles and your industry so we can customise the training to meet your needs. Remember, at Safecity you may HAVE a student number, but you are still known by your name!
What other benefits does Safecity offer me?
I have other questions!
We thought you might. Please visit Safecity's Workplace Trainers Guide to the T.A.A. Galaxy. If you cannot find the answer there, please send us an E-mail. Our student support service will strive to answer you within 24 hours.
